MODERATORS

Out of necessity every online forum/news group needs a team of people to oversee and ensure that the forum runs smoothly. They are there for your protection. They see and read all the posts and check whether they comply to our posting guidelines (see Forum TOU).

Moderators have extra 'powers' over the normal forum membership. They can edit all posts, delete them or move them to a more appropriate section or rename them. Normally the author of an "offending" post will be contacted with an explanation, but not always. Sometimes it is quite clear why a post has had to be edited or moved. The Moderator's decision on this is final. Occasionally we get spammers and people "flood" posting on the forum. Such posts are removed ASAP.

Normally the moderators have very little to moderate, you are more likely to see their work in the fixing of links or images within a posting. Moderators also keep an eye on new members, greeting them, getting them settled in, and making sure they get the hang of how the forum works. The moderators (and administrators) are members of the Series 2 Club and as such, also have to consider the best interests of the club and how this forum reflects upon the club's image. The moderators are in constant touch with each other and are fully briefed on current forum issues.
